| Rough earthenware |
| This group accounts for a substantial portion of the pottery found in New France. Their provenance is attributed to the region of Saintonge, France, from the early 17th century to the end of the 18th. Characteristic are their green glazes, rich in copper. They were used commonly in New France in the preparation of food and for table service and were as common in the homes of peasants as of the wealthy. |
